Doing that at Birmingham Interchange and for two fast services at Curzon Street becomes feasible with fewer HS2 trains.
Doing both brings connectivity benefits and worthwhile reductions in journey times to Birmingham & London.
Alternatively the Scottish 8 or 12 car HS2 trains could be diverted to Euston WCML platforms – if the short third HS2 tunnel needed for 10 HS2 platforms is kept – and the pause used to modified it a little.
