This would obviate the need to go through the tortuous planning process to duplicate existing network or for new routes.
Similarly the existing transmission infrastructure at closed generation sites should be utilised for connecting SMR’S to the grid, assuming the likes of Rolls Royce are allowed to provide this necessary additional capacity this century and not have to jump through endless hoops devised by the irrelevant Civil Service.
